The North Face Doubles Down on Resale with New Partners, Archive and Tersus Solutions
The new partnership debuts new full-service capabilities from resale technology platform, Archive, enabling The North Face expanded commitment to circularity
SAN FRANCISCO (May 9, 2022) - Archive (www.archiveresale.co), the resale technology company that builds customized solutions for brands to incorporate secondhand into their business, today announced a partnership with The North Face to power the brand’s circular clothing and gear program, Renewed. Archive’s platform integrates with TERSUS Solutions, a cleantech and logistics company working to close the loop in textile circularity, to create the newly revamped, elevated experience.
The North Face Renewed features a collection of clothing and gear that has been refurbished and remade. The North Face Renewed will utilize Tersus’ proprietary waterless cleaning technology to insure every product meets the quality and performance that’s expected from The North Face with less impact on the planet. Since launching in 2018, The North Face Renewed has diverted over 200,000 pounds of textiles from landfills, and this next phase is designed to accelerate growth and achieve even greater environmental impacts.

Archive worked closely with The North Face to design the new website and user experience for Renewed, ensuring a cohesive brand aesthetic, seamless user experience, and comprehensive functionality for the brand’s current and future resale needs. With Archive’s technology, The North Face now has visibility into the detailed life cycle of a Renewed item, from warehouse arrival through fulfillment, including product identification, cleaning, repairs, and site listing. This visibility ensures that each item receives appropriate attention, for example, a down jacket that needs a seam repair, hiking pants that need a new zipper, versus an item that is in like-new condition ready to be cleaned and listed or needs to be recycled and not resold. It also helps The North Face accurately price pieces for resale and better understand how their products are holding up with time, enabling a data-led feedback loop to product design.
