Prat Vemana is executive vice president, chief information and product officer for Target and a member of its leadership team. He sets the vision for the company’s product and engineering teams, focusing on harnessing technology to drive growth and deliver competitive advantages. Prat is responsible for all aspects of technology at Target, including cybersecurity, data platforms, data science, infrastructure, product engineering, enterprise product teams and user experience. Through his leadership in advancing automation, data, and artificial intelligence (AI), he plays a key role in creating innovative and inspiring experiences for Target’s guests, team members, and vendor partners. 

In his prior role as chief digital and product officer, Prat oversaw digital business growth by revamping digital guest experiences, expanding Target’s digital marketplace, Target Plus, and bringing more speed and ease to the company’s digital fulfillment experiences. Additionally, he established industry-leading enterprise product operating model and user experience practices at Target. 

Prat joined Target in 2022 from Kaiser Permanente, where he was senior vice president and chief digital officer. In that role, he led the enterprise product management, consumer experience and technology teams, driving the company’s digital strategy and implementing telehealth solutions for on-demand care. Additionally, he led the CTO office and spearheaded enterprise architecture, governance, technology vision and cloud modernization initiatives at Kaiser Permanente. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Prat held digital leadership positions at The Home Depot and Staples. 

Prat holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from the University of Madras and a Master of Business Administration from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. He serves on the board of directors for Frontier Communications.
