David Weissman joined Tulip in 2024 as EVP of Growth upon the acquisition of Humankind, the pioneering eCommerce Clienteling Platform he founded. He brought with him over 25 years of experience in eCommerce and digital businesses.
Known for his innovative, first-to-market approaches and his passion for enhancing the customer experience, Weissman has held leadership roles with retail technology leaders like GSI Commerce and led direct-to-consumer eCommerce initiatives at major retail brands such as Target and BCBG. Weissman has also consulted for leading global brands including Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Quicksilver, Beautycounter, and Petsmart.
David’s passion and experiences are centered around digital user experience innovation, using technology to change the way we shop. After Target acquired Dermstore, Weissman was hired to bring that discipline to the growing skincare business and to Target.com at large. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to launch his own skincare brand, Beauty By Design, leveraging 1:1 consultations with live Estheticians by SMS as his unique selling proposition. This experience would become the foundation for Humankind, where Weissman refined his ideas through millions of customer interactions. He eventually pivoted to build a B2B SaaS business, offering this eCommerce innovation to other brands and retailers.
At Tulip, Weissman’s expertise in eCommerce and customer experience will be instrumental at designing new products, driving growth and shaping strategies to expand the company’s market presence.
