Dave Steck was the VP of IT - Store and Emerging Technologies for Schnuck Markets in St. Louis MO. After retiring in May of '25, he started his own advisory business to work with retailers and vendors to help drive innovative solutions. In his 11+ years of leadership in grocery retail technology, he drove digital transformation across store systems, infrastructure, and customer facing platforms. Schnucks under Dave's leadership, led nationally recognized deployments of autonomous shelf-scanning robots, electronic shelf labels (ESLs), digital temperature sensing and AI-powered loss prevention systems. He is known for executing at scale, fostering vendor innovation, and leading high-performing teams through complex rollouts in fast-paced, multi-store environments. Dave is frequently asked to speak at industry conferences as well as participate in podcast interviews. He was named one of Retail Info Systems’ Top 10 Most Influential and OmniTalk Retail’s Omni Stars for his work in grocery retail. In 2023 Schnucks was recognized by Forbes as being the most innovative grocer in America.
