Applicants for press and analyst passes for NRF 2027: Retail’s Big Show must meet the following criteria. Please read carefully to ensure all required documentation is provided.
Credentials may be submitted through the registration portal or emailed to eventpress@nrf.com for verification. NRF reserves the right to ask for verification of any individual's credentials. All registrations are generally reviewed within five (5) business days, though timing may vary, and are subject to approval by NRF.

Outlets may register up to five (5) staff members for a press pass.
Broadcast, print and online journalists:
Reporters and editors must have an editorial role at a well-established news outlet that publishes original content.
Reporters and editors must provide a link to their author page.
Reporters and editors must provide a copy of two recently bylined articles or clips that cover the retail industry. Content must have been published after Jan. 1, 2026, and demonstrate consistent reporting throughout the year.
Bloggers:
Bloggers must provide two recently bylined blog posts that cover the retail industry. Content must have been published after Jan. 1, 2026, and demonstrate consistent reporting.
Bloggers must provide documentation from an external web analytics service (such as Google Analytics) showing a minimum of 50,000 unique visitors per month. For blogs hosted on Substack or similar blogging platforms, a minimum of 20,000 subscribers or followers is required.
Podcasters:
Podcasters must provide two recent retail industry-related episodes hosted or co-hosted by the registrant. Content must have been published after Jan. 1, 2026, and demonstrate consistent reporting.
Podcasters must submit documentation from an external web analytics service (such as Google Analytics, Spotify Analytics or Apple Analytics) showing a minimum of 2,500 monthly listens or over 750 listens/episode over the span of one month.
Freelance journalists and contributors:
Freelance journalists and contributors must present a letter of assignment from a well-established media outlet with the assigning editor’s name and contact information.
Freelance journalists and contributors must provide a copy of two recently bylined articles or clips. Content must have been published after Jan. 1, 2026, and demonstrate consistent reporting.
Not eligible:
Analysts – Analysts are not eligible for a press pass but may request an analyst pass. Organizations may register up to five (5) analysts, subject to verification and NRF approval.
Consultants, PR and Marketing Representatives
Non-Editorial Roles at a Media Organization – Non-editorial roles, such as sales, marketing and finance, do not qualify for a press pass.
Social Media Accounts – Content creators and individuals who publish primarily on social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X)
Corporate or Branded Content Writers – Individuals who produce content for a company or organization’s owned channels (corporate blogs, “news” sections and newsletters)
Organizations may register up to five (5) staff members for an analyst pass.
Analysts:
Analysts must have a research role in a well-established data analysis or research services company that publishes original content.
Analysts must provide a copy of a recently bylined research paper or report published in 2026. Submitted reports must provide original insights and research.
The registration rate for approved analysts is $500 per registration.

Consultants
Venture Capitalists, Holding Firms and Private Investment Firms

All registrations are typically reviewed within five (5) business days, though timing may vary. If additional information is required, a member of the NRF Media Relations team will reach out to request supporting materials.
No. We recommend registering early to allow sufficient time for your submission to be reviewed. For international registrants, we recommend applying before December to ensure enough time for approval to avoid issues with travel arrangements.
