Scott Benedict is a seasoned retail executive, merchant, and omnichannel strategist with more than 30 years of experience spanning Fortune 1 retail, global eCommerce, wholesale club leadership, consulting, and academia.

Scott has held senior buying and merchandising roles at Walmart, Sam’s Club, Best Buy, and Groupon. At Sam’s Club, he drove more than $300 million in incremental category growth and supported wholesale club operations across multiple international markets. He was also a founding member of Walmart’s original online retail team and later served as General Manager of BestBuy.com’s Entertainment division, helping shape early approaches to eCommerce and omnichannel retailing. He also launched the Site Merchandising and Web Analytics teams at SamsClub.com.

Today, Scott serves as Client Director at NielsenIQ, with a dedicated focus on Sam’s Club. He works with brand partners and internal stakeholders to translate consumer and member insights into strategies that improve assortment, merchandising, and growth.

Scott is Founder & CEO of Benedict Enterprises, where his work focuses on digital merchandising, retail media, AI, executive education, and the evolving path to purchase. He is creator and host of The Digital Front Door podcast and Scott’s Thoughts and author of the forthcoming book, The Digital Front Door: Retail Merchandising in the Omnichannel Age.

Scott served as Executive Professor and Director of the Center for Retailing Studies at Texas A&M University. A recognized RETHINK Retail Top Retail Expert, he brings together merchant fundamentals, digital innovation, and practical leadership to help organizations navigate the rapidly evolving world of AI-driven, omnichannel commerce.
