Jason Goldberg

Chief Commerce Strategy Officer

Publicis Groupe

Jason "Retailgeek" Goldberg is Chief Commerce Strategy Officer at Publicis Groupe and a fourth-generation retailer who has been inside the e-commerce business for 30-plus years.

He launched online retail at Blockbuster Entertainment in 1995, then helped build e-commerce businesses at Best Buy and Target. Since moving into agency leadership, he has advised hundreds of retailers and brands through every major shift in commerce — from the dot-com era through mobile, marketplaces, social commerce, retail media, and now agentic commerce. His current client roster includes Walmart, Amazon, and dozens of the world's largest retailers and consumer brands.

Jason has cultivated one of the largest practitioner followings in commerce as @retailgeek. He co-hosts the top-ranked Jason & Scot Show podcast with Scot Wingo, writes a regular column for Forbes, and serves on the RetailWire BrainTrust and as faculty at the Path to Purchase Institute.

His governance work spans the trade and the operating side. Jason served as Executive Chairman of Shop.org and on the National Retail Federation's Digital Advisory Board. He currently sits on the board of directors of VGL Group, a publicly traded retailer that operates the ShopLC and TJC television and online jewelry brands in the U.S., U.K., and Germany.

In 2017, the National Retail Federation inducted Jason into "The List" — its honor for the 25 individuals who have shaped the future of retail. Rethink Retail has also named him a Top 100 Global Retail Influencer for six consecutive years.
