Barbara Buhr is an accomplished Senior Executive and Product Development Specialist with more than 20 years of success spanning retail, supply chain/manufacturing, and textiles. Barbara currently serves as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Global Sourcing at Destination XL Group, Inc., the nation’s largest specialty retailer of Big & Tall apparel. In this role, she oversees global sourcing and production operations, compliance, technical design, product innovation, and the overseas HK office. She is widely recognized for developing and launching FiTMAP® Scanning Technology, an industry-first fit platform that delivers precise size recommendations and custom clothing options for Big & Tall customers. Rolled out across 188 stores and online, FiTMAP® has transformed the customer experience, reduced returns, and positioned DXL as the exclusive provider of this technology through 2030. Barbara also leads the company’s Compliance and ESG initiatives, partnering with inspection agencies to ensure transparency and ethical compliance across the supply chain. Leveraging her extensive experience in cross-functional leadership, she has driven operational efficiencies, diversified sourcing into the Western Hemisphere and Africa, and implemented speed-to-market strategies that strengthened resilience and profitability. Her broad expertise includes supply chain, product development, brand innovation, sustainability, global manufacturing, and operations management. Barbara has held leadership positions at Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Adrienne Vittadini, TSE Cashmere, Zephyr Textiles, Lineapiu Group, and Burlington Industries. She served as a Board Member of the USDA Cotton Board from 2020 through February of 2026 and holds a BS in Textiles from North Carolina State University.
