Wesfarmers, an organization that owns and operates Kmart Group and Target in Australia and New Zealand, embarked on their digital transformation with Kmart Australia Limited (Kmart) in 2016. While the initial migration helped Kmart achieve significant cost savings and freed up application teams from operational processes, they took their transformation efforts to the next level in 2022 with an initiative called MC2. This initiative involved migrating 55 on-premises applications to AWS. Applications migrated included x86 workloads and key business applications for HR and finance, supply chain, merchandise and inventory, stores, infrastructure, and workplace technology. In addition, Kmart is using containerization, machine learning, and personalization to improve customer experience and accelerate time to value. Join this session to learn more about Kmart’s journey with AWS, future projects, and more.
