Phil Wahba covers leadership, retail, and consumer goods for Fortune, focusing on how big companies from Walmart and J.C. Before joining Fortune, Phil was a correspondent at Reuters where he covered retail and consumer goods for five years after covering the 2009 car bankruptcies and 2008 financial crisis for the news agency. Prior to journalism, Phil worked as a trade commissioner for the Canadian Consulate in New York for 11 years before changing careers. He is a native of Montreal, holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University’s journalism school, an MBA from the University of Ottawa and is a CFA charterholder. He is an obsessive runner and has run a full marathon in each U.S. state.
