Amazon Just Walk Out
Nathan leads the Hardware Systems Technology team at AWS Solutions, spanning Just Walk Out technology and Amazon One. Nathan holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) degree with Honors from the University of New South Wales. His career has focused on embedded software systems, hardware design, and digital signal processing algorithm development. A musician and songwriter, Nathan spent many years exploring his passion developing digital mixers, audio processors, and digitally-enabled loudspeaker products in the professional audio industry prior to joining Amazon. He has led hardware systems development with Amazon for 9 years in the Just Walk Out physical store space, including sensors, gates, cameras, computes for edge-AI, RFID systems, and networking solutions.
Nathan lives on Bainbridge Island, a short ferry ride away from downtown Seattle. He has two dogs, four children, and spends his free time making music, ballroom dancing, and applying permaculture principles to his garden where he and his wife grow many varieties of fruits and vegetables.
