Mardi Ditze is an entrepreneurial and compassionate leader who is dedicated to making a dent in the carbon economy, both at work and at home. As Head of Sustainability at IKEA U.S., Mardi guides nearly 17,000 co-workers to the goal of transitioning towards a circular business. Together with co-workers, customers, and global partners, Mardi’s strategic direction is a vital resource in the quest to impact climate change, unsustainable consumption, and inequality.
Prior to starting with IKEA in 2022, Mardi developed her expertise in retail, customer service, and sustainability initiatives as the Project Developer for Community Energy, a pioneer in renewable energy generation. Her trajectory led her to the City of Philadelphia where she examined energy use and conservation goals as the Senior Energy Analyst and Procurement and Program Manager. Honing her skills as Sustainability Manager at Circadia Group Inc., Mardi collaborated with institutions and companies to understand the energy impact of capital projects on long term carbon reduction goals. Her extensive knowledge, experience and passion help fuel her constituents on this journey to a better future.
Mardi believes leadership is an action, a true exemplar of IKEA values. Her heart for this work is rooted in making real change one step at a time. Mardi is an avid bike rider, French language learner and a co-parent to two French Bulldogs alongside her loving wife.
