Katie Welch, Chief Marketing Officer for Rare Beauty, is a creative thinker and brand storyteller with more than 20 years of marketing experience. As a founding member of the Rare Beauty team, Katie works to bring Selena Gomez’s mission and vision for Rare Beauty to life. Since launch, Rare Beauty, known for its mental health mission and innovative products, has become one of the leading global beauty brands at Sephora. In previous marketing roles, she worked with globally respected beauty brands to tell their story, including Hourglass, Bliss, Burt’s Bees, Unilever and Victoria’s Secret Beauty. She was named to the 2024 Forbes Entrepreneurial CMO 50, Campaign US 2023 CMO 50, and Glossy 2022 Top Marketer lists. Her passion is mentorship; she mentors young marketing professionals as an Adweek Executive Mentor (2022, 20223, 2024). Additionally, she fostered a community of nearly 100k by creating marketing and career content on TikTok, @katiewelch. Katie has spoken to students at Harvard Business School, UC Berkeley, USC, and more.
