Dan Levitan

Dan Levitan has over 25 years of collective experience in venture capital and investing, specializing in leading consumer and retail businesses. Eager to help innovative companies realize their full potential, Levitan launched Maveron, in 1998, with Howard Schultz, former CEO and current Executive Chairman of Starbucks Coffee Company. In his 20-year career at Maveron, Levitan has led many successful exits, including, zulily (NASDAQ: ZU), Potbelly (NASDAQ: PBPB), Trupanion (NYSE: TRUP), Capella Education Company (NASDAQ:CPLA), eBay (NASDAQ: EBAY) and Shutterfly (NASDAQ:SFLY). He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Arivale, Allbirds,, PlutoVR and Trupanion. Levitan is also a board member for The Rock Center for Entrepreneurship at Harvard Business School where he acts as a judge at the annual New Venture Competition and he is a trustee of the Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation. He also is chair of Brothers for Life, a charity that helps wounded Israeli combat soldiers.

Recognizing Dan’s leadership, Forbes named him to its Midas List in 2014—the magazine’s annual ranking of the top 100 VCs in the world.

Dan graduated from Horace Mann School, and received a BA magna cum laude from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
