Adam Valkin


Managing Director
General Catalyst
Adam Valkin is a managing director at General Catalyst, a venture capital firm with offices in Boston, New York and Silicon Valley and approximately $3.75 billion in total capital raised.  He is based in the firm’s Boston office and helps to oversee its NYC office. Adam invests primarily in online marketplaces and commerce, fintech, gaming, and digital media.

Prior to joining General Catalyst, Adam was a venture partner in the London office of Accel Partners. Before that, Adam was Global Head of Digital Media at television production company, Endemol, a partner at venture capital firm Arts Alliance and was co-founder and CEO of LOVEFiLM which was sold to Amazon in 2011.

Adam is on the board of, or actively involved with, the following GC companies: Shift Technology, Deliveroo, Vroom, ClassPass, CCP Games (creator of Eve Online), Super Evil Megacorp (creator of VainGlory), WayUp, Brainly, Rebagg, Giphy and Fundbox. His previous investments include Fiverr, Spotify, Kenshoo, LOVEFiLM and Flywire. 

Adam attended Harvard University (A.B. Economics), where he was a member of the varsity tennis team.
