The term “Society 5.0” was coined by Japan’s government at a G20 meeting, describing its initiative as a purposeful effort to create a new social contract and economic model by fully incorporating the technological innovations of the “fourth industrial revolution”. Applied to the retail industry, this transformation proposes a new standard to balance economic advancement with the resolution of societal challenges through new advancements in technology, with further support from corporate environmental, social and governance  (ESG) strategies. In this session, you will hear from industry leaders about how they are leveraging technology to adapt and transform every aspect of their business to meet the expectations of Society 5.0 -- from corporate structure to data analytics -- and leverage it as a competitive weapon.
