Brand builders: Balancing business and creativity to make a cultural connection

Please note, this session is only open to pen and paper members of press. No recording is allowed.

Emotional connections require a sense of authenticity that can’t be fabricated nor replicated and in today’s competitive landscape, there is no roadmap for success. You have to be in your business for the right reasons and that means focusing on passion, not profit. In two successive fireside chats, NRF 2019: Retail's Big Show concludes with impactful lessons from the journeys of music and entertainment industry executive, Scooter Braun, followed by home and lifestyle entrepreneurs, Chip and Joanna Gaines.

    · 3:45 - 4:15 p.m. – Hear Scooter Braun story-tell his rise to entertainment mogul from his early entrepreneurial discovery and pursuit of Justin Bieber via then-nascent YouTube, managing Arianna Grande’s biggest career moves, developing a multi-faceted media empire, and his important business and brand building learnings along the way.

    · 4:15 - 4:45 p.m. Join Chip and Joanna Gaines as they discuss their unexpected path to television, the brand and businesses they've built in Waco, Texas, and the lessons they’ve learned along the way. Together, they will share from their entrepreneurial journey and how they’ve navigated so many various sectors of retail and business—books, magazine, retail partnerships, expanding into the food industry and beyond.
