Smart & Final Stores, In. Select Thynk Active to Manage POS to Move Towards Unified Commerce

Thynk Active, the unified commerce and retail systems consulting firm, announced today that they have been selected by Smart & Final Stores, Inc. to manage the implementation of SAP Omnichannel POS by GK in over 300-plus grocery and foodservice stores.

Thynk Active recently helped Smart & Final in its quest to select a POS solution that would align with its long-term roadmap for unified commerce. Ed Wong, SVP and CIO at the Los Angeles-based chain, said: “The experience in store systems that the Thynk Active consultants have and the numerous selection projects they had done previously made them an easy choice to lead our selection project.”

Smart & Final focused on SAP Omnichannel POS by GK as the best overall fit based on its feature set, functionality, and technology stack. Also playing a key factor in the selection was the flexibility to add other solutions to extend their capabilities within the planned unified commerce ecosystem. The POS solution suite includes OmniPOS for omni-channel POS, SAP Hybris Mobile Consumer Assistant by GK for mobile checkout, and the GK/Retail TransAction+ payment solution. Smart & Final engaged Thynk Active to manage the implementation of the POS solution in order to launch the in-store transformation.
