As President and CEO, Matey has led the company with double digit growth year over year, and recently launched the Sundance retail expansion strategy to include a new retail design concept followed by several new store openings in 2015 and beyond. With a vision to create a customer experience through a sense of discovery, authenticity and storytelling, the Sundance retail experience stands apart. The company has recently embarked on a state-of-the-art omni channel customer database project to lead future expansion strategy across catalog, web and brick and mortar. Retail expansion plans include up to 40 stores by 2020.
After joining Sundance in 1993, Matey was charged to develop the company’s growth strategy in the areas of brand marketing, customer database, customer acquisition, new catalog titles and market research. She integrated the eCommerce division in 1995, and added other areas such as Creative, Merchandising, IT, and Operations later in her career. Matey was previously with J. Crew Group, Inc. before joining Sundance. Matey was named as a Leading Female Executive in Cross Channel Retail as published in the Retail Online Integration magazine in April 2013.
Matey graduated from The State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY) School of Management with a B.S. Degree in Finance and Economics.
