Principal and Co-Founder
Shook Kelley
Kevin Ervin Kelley, AIA is the co-founder and principal of Shook Kelley, a strategy and design firm founded in 1992 with offices in Charlotte and Los Angeles. Shook Kelley studies how consumers behave within physical environments and designs spaces to attract, influence and shape specific consumer behavior. The firm's client list includes well-known place-based brands such as Kapalua, Hawaii; Makati, Philippines and the South End district of Charlotte, NC, as well as retail brands such as Harley-Davidson, Whole Foods, Bank of America, Kraft, Harris Teeter and more.

Kevin was trained and licensed as an architect and has taught at the University of North Carolina and Harvard University. Kevin is based in the Los Angeles office and has expanded the practice into studying how consumers make major lifestyle decisions—from where to live and shop for food, to what college to attend or where to go on vacation. As Kevin puts it, we are all consumers of something and there is much to be learned by understanding better how consumers make decisions.
